The Carolina Animal Clinic in Sanford, NC opened in 1977 as a small satellite clinic associated with a multi-vet practice serving Lee and Moore Counties. Under the leadership of Dr. Carroll F. Williams, the clinic has more than tripled in size and has become the full-service Carolina Veterinary Hospital, P.A. Beyond routine medical diagnosis and care, the hospital's services include laser surgery, dentistry, allergy testing, x-ray, on-site laboratory testing, as well as Telemedicine's on-line support for cardiology, ultrasound and endoscopic procedures. We maintain close ties to all the emergency facilities in the tri-county region and offer referrals to various specialty hospitals and the North Carolina State University's School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Williams and his small well-trained staff maintain a close and professional relationship with pets and their owners. The head of staff, Dr.C.F. Williams, attended East Carolina University, Louisiana State University and the University of Georgia. He received the Outstanding Senior Award from ECU, worked on a Masterâ?Ts Degree at LSU and obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from UGA with the distinction of being Magna Cum Laude. The status of Honorary Alumni has been conferred on Dr. Williams by the North Carolina State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Professional associations include Omega Tau Sigma Veterinary Fraternity, the Phi Zeta Honor Society, the North Carolina Academy of Small Animal Medicine, the North Carolina Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, the American Association of Feline Practitioners and the American Veterinary Medical Association. He opened the Carolina Veterinary Hospital, P.A. in Sanford, North Carolina in 1977 while serving as an on-call veterinarian for the Veterinary Equine Research Center in Southern Pines. Dr. Williams has received awards for his outstanding support in the training of the U.S. Army Special Forces.

Dr. Williams and his wife, Donna, enjoy hiking, kayaking, camping, photography and spending time in their cabin in the North Carolina mountains. Donna, a Physical Therapist and a Personal Trainer, owns and operates a clinic in Concord, NC. Their son, Austin, works with his father in the veterinary hospital while attending Central Carolina Community College. Family pets include a dozen cats and their dog, Josie, as well as numerous raccoons, foxes, possum, deer and birds that make their home on the Williams' properties.
