The company with "A Family Tradition of Ownership" recently entered its 93rd year in business! The original business was started and operated by James A. Quaglino, an Italian immigrant, who came to this country through Ellis Island. James moved to California with his family as a child. As a young man, he established a construction business specializing in roofing and flooring. In 1947, James built the commercial building located at the corner of Santa Barbara and High Streets in San Luis Obispo. This building would become the site where the business would operate from for many years to come.
