CURWENSVILLE, CLEARFIELD COUNTY - Fire Damages an auto repair shop. Fire crews say Rowles Repair Shop on Filbert St. in Curwensville was nearly destroyed when flames broke out there around 11:00 p.m. Monday. Firefighters were on scene for nearly four hours. Damage to the business is estimated at $200,000 - $300,000. The cause is under investigation. At least one car was damaged in the fire.
The fire caused about $100,000 in damage to the structure and another $200,000 in damage to its content.
LEOMINSTER -- A Pleasant Street man who owns and operates Tata Auto Repair on Marguerite Avenue in Leominster is free on bail after being arraigned on charges of possession of a Class A and B drug with intent to distribute.
John T. Schmader, 78, of Bryn Mawr, a former owner-operator of Schmader's Garage, a Main Line auto-repair business in Haverford Township, died Monday, March 17, of cancer at his home.
